What was the matter
In 2018, the livestock scam was revealed when Indore-based businessman Manjit Singh Bhatia filed a case in Hazratganj Kotwali, Lucknow. The victim had alleged that a proposal of three per cent commission was received in lieu of tender of Rs 214 crore in the livestock department. On which one crore rupees were paid as commission.
It is alleged that on August 31, he was called again and Ashish Rai, in the Government Office of the Animal Husbandry Department’s Assembly Secretariat, called him SK Mittal and met him and gave a copy of the fake work order. Then many times crores of rupees were collected from him. In the investigation of STF, a case of grabbing Rs 9 crore 72 lakh in the name of fake tender was caught in the animal husbandry department from a trader from Indore.
In this entire fraud, Rajneesh Dixit, Principal Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Livestock, Contract Secretariat of the Secretariat and Dheeraj Kumar Dev, Private Secretary to the Minister, alleged journalists AK Rajeev, Anil Rai and Ashish Rai, who described themselves as Deputy Directors of the Livestock Department. The main conspirator, Ashish Rai, used the office of SK Mittal, deputy director of the Animal Husbandry Department, to become the deputy director himself.
