A record more than 18 lakh students have applied for the NEET UG 2022 exam to be conducted by the National Testing Agency in July. This is an increase of about 20 percent compared to the previous year. According to NTA, this year it might be the toughest medical entrance exam in India.
200 minutes will be available in the exam
Keeping this in mind, 200 minutes will be allotted for the exam this year against the 180-minute paper in which 20 minutes extra has been added. Also, this time a total of 20 optional questions will be given in section ‘A’.
180 questions to be attempted
A total of 200 questions carrying 720 marks will be asked from the students appearing in the NEET UG, 2022 exam. These will be in multiple choice. Students will have to attempt 180 questions out of these. These questions will come in 4 sections and will have two parts A and B. There will be 35 questions in Part A, 15 questions will be asked in Part B. Out of these, candidates will have to answer 10 questions. These questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany under Biology.
As per the syllabus released by NTA, there will be negative marking in the exam. For every correct question, 4 marks will be awarded to the candidates. Wherein, 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong question.
