13 toll plazas will be built for collecting toll tax on the ring road passing through Kanpur city, rural areas and outskirts of Unnao. There will be 03 toll plazas in package-1, 04 in package-2, 04 in package-3 and 02 in package-4.

Waiting for permission from the ministry
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has also received approval for three toll plazas in Package-1. While for other packages, the locations of toll plazas have been selected and the proposal has been sent. The work will be expanded as soon as permission is received from the ministry.

Kanpur Outer Ring Road will be built on the lines of Kanpur-Aligarh Highway.

Toll collection will be done in 5 packages
NHAI’s ambitious plan to implement the 93.20 km long ring road has been divided into 05 packages, which include package 1, 2 (A), 2 (B), 3 and 4. The work of 23.325 km long package one (Mandhana to Sachendi) and 24.559 km long package two (Mandhana to Ramaipur) has been given to Raj Construction.

The construction of Package-1 is being done at a fast pace, while 70 percent of the land acquisition work has been completed in Package-4. The tender for the 19.235 km long Package-3 has been given to Rishikesh’s Hillways Company. The tender process for Package-2 (A) and 2 (B) will be completed soon.

Toll collection will be done on the lines of expressway
The toll tax will have to be paid for the distance travelled by the vehicle on the ring road. For this, 13 entry and exit points will be made on the ring road, which will be in Kanpur city, rural and Unnao districts. State-of-the-art sensors will be installed at all places to scan the fast tags on vehicles, which will be activated as soon as the vehicle leaves. The toll will be deducted as soon as the vehicle is scanned from where it leaves.

Tolls will be built at these places in Package-1
Toll booths are to be built at 13 places for toll collection in the ring road, in which toll booths will be built at three places in package-1. NHAI had selected Kisan Nagar on NH-2 highway, Purashubara on Shivli road and Pachor village border and Maharajpur village of Mandhna for toll collection and sent a proposal, which has been approved. Now toll booths will be built at these three places in package one.

Sitapur Raebareli Road (behind Transganga City), Paigupur Bangar Village, Hingupur Kachhar Village, Pipri, Kader Patari Village (NH 28), Sahejni Village, Azad Marg, Unnao, On Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway, Rooma, On Hamirpur Road (near Reliance Petrol Pump).
