Reports indicate that Honey Singh is considered one of the wealthiest Indian celebrities. Heโ€™s credited with popularising rap music in India. According to the latest reports, his net worth is estimated at $25 million (around Rs 208 crore).

Born on March 15, 1983, in New Delhi, Honey Singhโ€™s real name is Hirdesh Singh. He hails from a Punjabi Sikh family, with his father being Sardaar Sarabjit Singh and his mother, Bhupinder Kaur. He received formal musical education from the Trinity College London, United Kingdom.

His official debut album, titled International Villager, was released in 2011. A track from this album, Gabru, became a massive hit, topping various Asian charts, including the official BBC Asian Charts. The song also featured J-Star (Jagdeep Singh).

Honey Singh marked his entry into Bollywood with the song Shakal Pe Mat Ja for a film of the same title, released in 2011. Reports suggest that he was paid a whopping Rs 70 lakh for one song in the movie Mastan, making him one of the highest-paid musicians in Bollywood.

The song Angreji Beat from his debut album International Villager was featured in the Homi Adajania-directed film Cocktail, released in 2012. The movie starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty.

Honey Singh has composed songs for films like the 2013 blockbuster Chennai Express, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, as well as Boss, featuring Akshay Kumar. Honey Singh has also contributed to smaller-budget films such as Fugly, Mere Dad Ki Maruti and Bajatey Raho. Some of his most popular tracks include Brown Rang, Blue Eyes, Lungi Dance and Desi Kalakaar.
