A farmer grazing cattle in Bardiya village, adjacent to the Nepal border, under the Katarniaghat range of the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division, was eaten by a tiger. By the time other farmers could understand something, the villager had died. Police reached the information and sent the body for post-mortem.
65-year-old Deshraj, a resident of Bardia village, was grazing cattle on Wednesday. It is said that the tiger came out of the forest. The tiger attacked Deshraj and made him a morsel. When people came out on that road for some time, they saw the mutilated body of Deshraj lying. The family members were informed on this. Forest Officer and Sujauli SHO reached the spot along with the police force. DFO Akashdeep Wadhawan told that where footprints have been found. This has confirmed the attack of the tiger. The DFO said that the body has been sent for post-mortem. He said that after the post-mortem report, a compensation of five lakh would be given to the deceased dependent. Due to the death of the villager in the tiger attack, the family members are in a bad condition.
