In protest against the Central Agricultural Act, the Congress workers of the district on Saturday laid siege to various routes. Demonstrations started from 12 noon till about 3 pm. There was a jam on the National and State Highways for about 3 hours in the district. Congress workers demonstrated under the leadership of City Congress Committee President Mohit Maheshwari in Raipur Road of the city.
The drivers of Haryana also came down from their trucks in the congregation of the Congressmen. Sitting on the road, Mike held up and kept his talk. He said that after getting information about the Chakkaajam in support of the farmers, they also stopped their car and joined the Chakkaajam. Jitendra Singh of Haryana said that farmers are protesting against the law brought for farmers. The Modi government at the center is only meeting. These laws will break the back of farmers. During this time Congress workers including Ishwar Sharan Vaishnav, Vijay Vaishnav, Nareshu Chandrakar, Mukesh Jharia, Vidya Chandravanshi, Valmiki Verma were present.
Agricultural law is not in the interest of farmers: Mohit
City Congress President Mohit Maheshwari said that the three black laws enacted by the Modi government at the Center, the first is the Agricultural Produce Trade and Commerce Bill 2020 to allow permission to sell outside the mandis. The second Farmers Protection Empowerment Price Assurance and Agreement on Agricultural Services means wholesalers are allowed to buy and stock. The third law is also not in the interest of the farmers.
