The traders submitted a memorandum after demonstrating at the Collectorate.

The trade leaders of Kannauj have opposed the rule of selling pan masala and tobacco at separate shops. After reaching the Collectorate, the leaders of the trade board met the DM and also submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister. They said that if the government does not change the rule then the government will protest against it.

On Thursday, under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Udyog Vyapar Mandal District President Ramji Aggarwal, the officials of the organization reached the Collectorate and met DM Subhrant Kumar Shukla. Here the trade leaders said that the Commissioner of Food Safety and Drug Administration issued a notification on May 7, 2024. It said that now pan masala and tobacco will not be sold at the same shop.

The decision is not in the interest of small traders
Both will be sold at different shops. The Vyapar Mandal opposes this rule. This is not in the interest of small traders. Therefore, this rule should be withdrawn immediately. Under the leadership of Vyapar Mandal District President Ramji Agarwal, many business leaders including the organization’s general secretary Sushil Dubey, Ratan Gupta, Yatish Swaroop Saxena, Praveen Prakash Gupta, Arvind Dubey, Neeraj Vaishya, Mohammad Kamran, Pradeep Verma, Ranjit Singh handed over a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to DM Subhrant Kumar Shukla and demanded withdrawal of the rule. He said that if the government does not withdraw this rule, then all the traders will be forced to unite and protest.
