The Pakistani National Commission for Rights of Children (NCRC) called for the safe return of Seema Haider’s children.

The Pakistani National Commission for Rights of Children (NCRC), a child rights body in the neighbouring country, called for the repatriation of the four children of Seema Haider.

Seema Haider made headlines last year after travelling to India via Nepal with her children to marry her lover, Sachin Meena, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida, last May. She had befriended Meena through online gaming platform PUBG Mobile. They have been living together in Greater Noida since.

Pakistani broadcaster ARY News said that the NCRC wrote to the Pakistani Foreign Office and in their letter appealed for the safe return of Haider’s children.

Haider was previously married to Ghulam Haider who is still in Pakistan, and had four children with him.

Seema Haider, who is from Jacobabad in Sindh province, was also arrested in July for entering India without a visa and her lover Sachin was put in jail for sheltering the illegal immigrants. Both were released later.

It should be noted that Haider had earlier sought legal help to bring their children back to Pakistan. He had hired Ansar Burney, a top Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist, for help in getting custody of his four children.

“After due process, we have hired an Indian lawyer, Ali Momin and have sent the power of attorney to start legal proceedings in Indian courts. This is not an open and shut case because even if she is settled there now, her children are Pakistani nationals and underage, the father has every right to them,” Burney told PTI earlier this year.

Burney also runs a trust under his name, which works for the recovery of missing and kidnapped children, and he has also represented Indian prisoners jailed in Pakistan.
