Kumar Sanu has told that on the day his father passed away, he had to give a live performance. Referring to Raj Kapoor’s line ‘The show must go on’, he said that this line suited him perfectly at that time.
Kumar Sanu further said, when we come in front of the public, they do not care about our personal things. They are not concerned with our problems. They don’t even care about this. The public feels that if Kumar Sanu comes on stage, he should sing only melodious songs without any wrinkles on his face.

Gulshan Kumar recognized Kumar Sanu’s talent and gave him a chance to sing in Aashiqui. All the songs of this film were blockbusters. From here Kumar Sanu started climbing the stairs of success.
Fell while singing but the public did not pay attention
In an interview given to Pinkvilla, Kumar Sanu said, the day my father passed away was the most difficult day for me. Unfortunately, I had a stage show that same evening. I couldn’t even avoid this show. When I reached the stage, I was showered with so many flowers that I slipped and fell while singing. Even after this I continued singing. Even this did not make any difference to the audience. They thought it was a new style that I was singing while falling on the ground.
When I went inside after the show was over, staff members came to ask me whether I was okay or not, but the public did not even know that I had fallen.

Kumar Sonu’s singing style matched that of Kishore Kumar, hence he had to face a lot of rejection in the initial phase.
