Congress leader Dinesh Gundu Rao on Thursday launched a scathing attack on BJP’s top leadership calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi the modern-day Viceroy Chelmsford and Union Home Minister Amit Shah ‘General Dyer’. This is amid the ongoing farmers’ protest against the Central government’s new agri laws. While sharing a news article which says that the Yogi Adityanath government has not granted permission for farmers’ mahapanchayat tomorrow in UP’s Shamli, the Congress leader said independent India is witnessing what the British rule must have been like during the freedom struggle. “Independent India is witnessing what the British Rule must’ve been like during the Freedom Struggle. Narendra Modi is the modern day Viceroy Chelmsford and Amit Shah is General Dyer,” the Congress leader tweeted.
