PM Modi will inaugurate rural drinking water scheme for Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts today.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of rural drinking water supply projects in Mirzapur and Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh. These projects will benefit 42 lakh people of Mirzapur and Sonbhadra. At the same time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend this program from Karmon village of Chatra block of Sonbhadra. He will be accompanied by Union Water Power Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and UP Water Power Minister Mahendra Singh. The Chief Minister will also visit Mirzapur after the foundation stone program.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh will start drinking water supply through pipes in 1606 villages of Mirzapur under the central government’s ‘Har Ghar Nal’ scheme. The scheme will directly benefit 21,87,980 villagers of Mirzapur. 1389 villages of Sonbhadra will also be started from the scheme. 19,53,458 families of these villages will join the drinking water supply scheme.

3212.18 crores will be spent
The government will spend Rs 3212.18 crore on this scheme in Sonbhadra. The water collected at the dam in Mirzapur will be purified and made potable and then supplied. The cost of this scheme has been fixed at Rs 2343.20 crores.

A total of 41,41,438 families benefited.
According to officials, a total of 41,41,438 families will benefit from the schemes of both the districts. The total expenditure on the scheme is estimated at Rs 5555.38 crore. According to officials of the Ministry of Water Power, the water supply will be started in the villages after completing the scheme within two years.
