Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar talking to reporters on Friday in Jalandhar.
- Sunil Jakhar said – The Akali-BJP government was enacted in 2013, the Union Minister speaks of the advisors of PM
Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar has retaliated on Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s statement in the Rajya Sabha on Friday about the implementation of contract farming in Punjab. On Friday in Jalandhar’s Circuit House, Jakhar said that this law was enacted in 2013 by the BJP government, which had aligned with the Akali Dal. After this, Lok Sabha elections came and no rules were formed, after which the Congress government never implemented those laws. It may be noted that the Union Agriculture Minister had said in the Rajya Sabha that in the Punjab Act, there is a provision to send farmers to jail if they break the contract, whereas our Act does not.
Jakhar also said that the central government is misleading the farmers on the issue of agricultural laws. He said that the ministers of the Central Government speak the same without knowing the ground reality, which they call the Prime Minister’s advisor.
No Foodgrain in Congress’ revised APMC Act
Amended by the Congress Government of Punjab in 2017 APMC On the question of bringing the Act, Jakhar said that it has been canceled, there are no rules-regulations of the Central Government’s law. The law was made by the Congress government of the state, it includes fruit, vegetable, catal mandi, it has nothing to do with food grains. This does not leave the buyer uncontrolled. It is restricted under rules-regulation and the state government has direct control over it.
Efforts to prove Punjab a separate state by isolating Punjab
Punjab Congress President Sunil Jakhar said that the Central Government is deliberately trying to discredit Punjab. Farmers from all over the country are involved in the movement, but trying to prove the state a disturbing state by just connecting it to Punjab. Apart from this, the incident of flagging the Red Fort is also being linked to Punjab. The Congress will not allow any such efforts of the Central Government and the BJP to succeed.
If people wake up, the nail on the streets will prove to be the last for BJP rule
Sunil Jakhar said that to suppress the peasant movement in Delhi, the streets are being hit. He said that if Hindustan woke up and people took responsibility towards martyrs Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh etc. who sacrificed for independence, it would prove to be the last for the BJP regime. People will not wake up, then with the policy of division in the name of caste and religion, these spikes will prove fatal for democracy.
