The Indore Municipal Corporation has once again succeeded in getting a hold of the banned polythene bags in Chandan Nagar. The warehouse where polythene bags were caught was fined Rs 1 lakh. The warehouse was sealed due to non-payment of this fine. Non-standard polythene bags have been banned by the Municipal Corporation under the cleanliness drive. After the ban was imposed, the manufacturers of these bags were notified. They were told not to do business of these bags anymore. Even after this business continued, the guerrilla action by the municipal corporation started the work of seizing non-standard polythene bags and imposing fines on those who sold them.
As a result of this action, these polythene bags disappeared from the streets of the city and from the merchants. Once the corona transition period came into force and after that once again the market opened, these bags started appearing in the market again. As a result, the field has now been taken up for action by the Municipal Corporation. Municipal Health Officer Gautam Bhatia and CSI Anil Sirsiya got information yesterday that a chasm of non-standard polythene bags was found at the Shiv Shakti Transport located in plan number 71 behind the Chandan Nagar police station.
After this information, the guerrilla action was taken by the officers with their team by going to the warehouse of this transport company. In this partisan operation, 18 bags filled with 30 kg polythene bags were found in this warehouse. These bags were seized and an invoice was made for this warehouse. Based on the advice given by senior municipal officials, a fine of one lakh was imposed on this godown. The inability of the warehouse operators to pay such a huge amount was expressed immediately. As a result, the godown has been sealed by the Municipal Corporation. Keep in mind that even before this warehouse, polythene bags have been caught in large quantities. Despite this, this business was started once again by the warehouse operators, as a result of which these bags were recovered yesterday.
