Priyanka got equal fees as the actor in Love Again: Bolin- I am taking equal fees since Citadel, did not expect it to be possible

After Citadel, Priyanka Chopra has also got equal fees for male actor in her upcoming film Love Again. Priyanka, who has been voicing her opinion against gender pay gap for years, expressed happiness over this. Priyanka told that she could not believe it when she got paid equal to her co-star Richard Madden in Citadel.

Didn’t expect this would ever happen – Priyanka
In an interview given to Shondaland, Priyanka said- ‘To be honest, I was very surprised, because I had stopped thinking or talking about it. There used to be a lot of difference between the fees my male actors got and the fees I got. I really did not expect that this thing would ever happen in life.

Priyanka further said- ‘The agents of my UTA (United Talent Agency) told that it is possible and they will go and talk to the makers on my behalf. The team spoke up and it has become possible. I was very surprised at first. But later it was learned that Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios, was herself a woman.

Even before this, Priyanka has been talking openly on gender pay gap and equality.

Priyanka will charge equal to the actor for projects
Priyanka said- ‘When women are in big positions in the industry, do they look back and help other women and create opportunities for other women? I think the answer is yes. I feel now that I have come a long way.
Feels like I have made a way out for myself by breaking the glass wall, which might be useful for upcoming actors. After Love Again and Citadel, I have charged the same amount for most projects.
