Pune Porsche Crash: How Teen Driver’s Father Vishal Agrawal Tried to Evade Police – News18

A 17-year-old boy driving a Porsche car knocked down two motorbike riders in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune in the early hours of Sunday, causing their death. The victims, a man and a woman, both aged 24 were techies hailing from Madhya Pradesh residing in Pune. Police have claimed the accused driver was drunk at the time after consuming liquor at a bar. The boy’s father, realtor Vishal Agrawal, was arrested in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad after a case was registered against him on Monday. But before that, how did Vishal try to hoodwink the authorities?

The teen driver was detained and granted bail in under 15 hours. The Juvenile Justice Board’s decision to grant the youngster bail on the same day while asking him to write an essay on road accidents has drawn criticism.

After his son was granted bail, Vishal knew that he was under the scanner of the police.

Sources told CNN-News18 that he tried to escape from Pune. He first drove to his properties in Pune, including his farmhouse in Daund. Following this, he travelled to Kolhapur and met a friend.

According to the sources, from Kolhapur, his driver and car were sent to Mumbai to mislead the cops.

Agarwal then purportedly travelled to Sambhajinagar in his friend’s car. The sources said he did not even inform his family regarding his whereabouts. They were told that he was in Mumbai.

He also allegedly switched off his phone to avoid being traced and got a new number.

Cops tracked him through the GPS of his friend’s car, the sources said.
