The court convicted the accused husband of attempting to burn his wife two years ago and was punished with rigorous imprisonment of 5 years and fine of Rs 3,000. Failure to pay penalty will result in additional imprisonment for 6 days. Additional public prosecutor Saraswati Yadav advocated on behalf of the government. District Prosecution Officer Mohammad Akram Sheikh said that Judge Abdullah Ahmed has convicted the accused Banga area accused Arjun in Section 307 and punished him with punishment and fine.
The incident was
On 31 January 2018, the police received information that a woman was undergoing treatment for a burn. When the police reached there, it was learned that the husband had taken her to Arvindo Hospital where statements were taken by the police. The woman said that on January 30 at 11 pm, husband Arjun disputed her talk on mobile and with the intention of killing her, put petrol on her and set her on fire. This caused the neck, chest, stomach and left arm to burn. Son Jigar witnessed the incident. Police registered a case of Section 307 and arrested the accused Arjun and presented it in the Challan Court.
