Actor Satish Kaul, who played the character of Indra Dev in BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharata’, has passed away. He was 74 years old and infected with Kovid-19. Satish, who was seen in the popular film Karma, was in bed for a long time and nobody was going to take care of him. Last year too, he had said that he would be facing financial crisis at the time of lockdown.

Worked in more than 300 films

Born in Kashmir on 8 September 1954, Satish acted in more than 300 films in Punjabi and Bollywood. In Bollywood, they were ‘Bhakti Mein Shakti’ (1978), ‘Dance Dance’ (1987), ‘Ram Lakhan’ (1989), ‘Alan’ (1994), ‘Zanjeer’ (1998) and ‘Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha’ ( 1998) has appeared in films like ‘Jat Punjabi’ (1979), ‘Chammak Challo’ (1982), ‘Sasi Pannu’ (1983), and ‘Patola’ (1987) in Punjabi. It is said that he was more popular in Punjabi cinema than Bollywood. Seeing his popularity at one stage, Satish was signed as a hero in every film made under the name of Jat. He was called Amitabh Bachchan of Punjabi cinema.

Helen had an affair

Satish’s most talked about affair is with Bollywood’s famous dancer Helen. The two continued to date each other for a few years but then Helen married Salim Khan. Satish was also deeply shocked by this.

Wife had left with

Satish Kaul’s personal life was very bumpy. His wife was Nimmi Singh, with whom Satish’s marriage did not last long. Both had a son Rishabh. Satish had told in an interview that his wife wanted him to go to America and stay home with his family. Satish did not agree to this and his wife left him forever and went to America.

Satish got into trouble due to a mistake

After his divorce from his wife, Satish opened an acting school, but he also did not run and his money was drowned. Due to this mistake of his, he also became very weak financially and he did not have any money left for living. Like Satish, he was running his own house. He also lived in the old age ashram for some time. In 2013, Punjabi channel PTC gave Life Time Achievement Award to Satish.
