The New Zealand Cricket Board has announced the central contract. While some veterans have not been included in this new contract, new and young players have been given a place. Rachin Ravindra has been included in it for the first time.

Like before, this time too Trent Boult has not been included in it, while Kane Williamson has also been kept out of it. Kane Williamson had also refused to sign the contract.

The New Zealand Cricket Board has released a list of 20 players, in which apart from Rachin, the names of Ben Sears, William O’Rourke and Jacob Duffy have also been included. Spinner Ajaz Patel, who was out of the central contract last year, has also been included in this list.

There was already a possibility of Rachin being included in this list. He played many excellent innings in the ODI World Cup played in India last year. He scored 578 runs. He was selected as the ICC Emerging Player of the Year for 2023. After this, he became the youngest player to receive the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal at the New Zealand Cricket Awards.
