Rajasthan Boy, Whose Mother Sold Her Bangles For His Education, Scores 700 In NEET UG 2024 – News18

Vikram Jangid cleared the NEET on his first attempt.

After passing class 12, Vikram Jangid from Barmer had to go to Sikar for NEET coaching.

The results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) were announced on June 4, almost 10 days before the scheduled release, with an exceptionally large number of students scoring a percentage of 99.9971. Some have scored 718 or 719 marks, which many claimed were impossible to achieve in the exam. In this situation, there is a story of a boy from Rajasthan who struggled to achieve success.

After passing class 12, Vikram Jangid from Barmer had to go to Sikar for NEET coaching. Since his father had no money, his mother sold her silver bangle and Vikram now will honour his mother’s devotion by becoming a doctor.

A boat does not cross the sea if it is afraid of the waves, he who tries never loses. This statement is entirely suited for Vikram. Despite his poverty, he studied hard and with a passion to achieve. His mother even had to sell her jewellery. Vikram cleared the NEET exam on his first attempt.

Vikram from a small village in Mitha Bera in Barmer is one of those NEET candidates for whom the word poverty does not stop him. Vikram’s father Rukharam Jangid is a laboratory technician in a hospital. When Vikram had to go for tuition, his father’s monthly salary was only Rs 6,000. At that time, Vikram’s mother Gomti Devi collected money for Vikram’s tuition by selling her silver bangles. Vikram is the first person in his village to become a doctor.

Vikram got his early education in RVM Bamanor Bhanwarshah, 6 km from the village. Until class 11, he used to travel 12 km every day. Vikram scored 90% marks in class 10 and 96.08% in class 12. During his class 12, Vikram tried to appear in the NEET exam for the first time. However, due to his low age limit, he could not apply. In the recent attempt, Vikram scored 700 out of 720 in NEET.

NEET is a pre-qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programmes just like the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) held every year. The exam is conducted by the NTA.
