Ranveer Singh Is 'Shortlisting' Names for Baby With Deepika Padukone, Wants to Name Their Child THIS – News18

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have finally announced that they are expecting their first child together. On Thursday, February 29, the couple took to her Instagram handles to share that Deepika is pregnant and will welcome her first child in September this year. Ranveer and Deepika have often spoken about wanting to have kids. In fact, a few years ago, Ranveer said that he was shortlisting baby names and wanted to name his child Shauryaveer Singh.

On The Big Picture show, Ranveer said to a contestant, “Main shortlist bana raha hoon names ke. Aap mind nahi karenge to main le lu aapse, Shauryaveer Singh? (I am shortlisting names. Would you mind if I took ‘Shauryaveer Singh’ from you)?”

Ranveer said since Deepika Padukone was an adorable baby, he wanted a baby girl just like her and looked at her baby photos every day. Ranveer and Deepika have been married for over five years and their pregnancy rumours have been making headlines for a long time now. Recently, a report by The Week claimed that Deepika is preparing for motherhood. A source cited by the publication claimed, “The actor is said to be in her second trimester.”

Interestingly, the pregnancy announcement also comes weeks after Deepika said that she wants to have kids with Ranveer. The actress was speaking to Vogue Singapore recently when she said, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone was recently seen in Fighter with Hrithik Roshan. She now has several projects in her pipeline. She will be sharing the screen with Prabhas in Kalki 2989 AD. Besides this, she will also be working on the Hindi remake of The Intern with Amitabh Bachchan. On the other hand, Ranveer Singh will soon be seen in the much-awaited Don 3 along with Kiara Advani.
