Team India’s head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R Sridhar are expected to leave for India today, but all three can fly to India only if their RT-PCR test report comes negative twice.

Corona happened during the Oval Test
Ravi Shastri was found corona positive during the fourth test match played between India and England at The Oval and was in isolation since then. After Shastri tested positive, the reports of Bharat Arun and R Sridhar also came out positive. It is believed that the isolation of these three has ended on Monday.

It is necessary to come negative in the report
Shastri and the support staff are required to test negative for the RT-PCR test before leaving for India from the UK. He is then expected to engage in a tough ‘bio-bubble’ post IPL Phase 2 in Dubai, where the Indian team will unite for the T20 World Cup.

A senior BCCI official told PTI on the condition of confidentiality- Ravi, Sridhar and Arun have no problem and they do not have any more symptoms. They will get their RT-PCR test done on Monday and if all goes well then they can leave on the predetermined date of departure which is 15th September. The final decision will be taken by the medical team.

Rest of the staff will reach India through commercial flight
Meanwhile, other support staff members of the Indian contingent will reach India on Monday afternoon via commercial flight via Dubai. Backup physio Yogesh Parmar, who was found corona positive just before the Manchester Test, will remain in isolation for the time being and will later fly to India after the report comes negative.

5th test was canceled
The last Test of the 5-Test series between England and India has been canceled due to Corona. Team India players refused to take the field after backup physio Yogesh Parmar was corona positive. After this it was decided to cancel the match.

Before the cancellation of the 5th Test, the Indian team was leading 2-1 in the series and the team was also considered as a strong contender to win the series. At present, this only Test is likely to be held in July next year.
