- Exclusive interview of Dainik Bhaskar with Seema Dhaka and producer Yogendra Chaturvedi
Rani Mukerji’s film ‘Mardaani’ may have been seen by many people, but the true masculinity of Delhi Police Seema Dhaka’s story of bravery will now be seen in the form of a web series. The extent of finding 76 missing and trafficking victims and joining their families has been made out of turn promotion to Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) from Head Constable. Seema, posted at Delhi Samaypur Badli Police Station, has become the first policeman of Delhi Police to get such a promotion.
Amitabh Bachchan was so impressed by Seema’s courage that she wrote on social media that Seema’s life is inspiring. A film should be made on his inspiring life. The biopic on the life of this super cop Seema Dhaka is going to be made soon. Absolute Binz Entertainment has taken the rights to create a web series.
Seema Dhaka told in a special conversation with ‘Dainik Bhaskar’ that I have always loved to face challenge. I come from a village where girls were banned. After leaving from there, I came to Delhi Police. When I came to know that a team is being formed in the department to rescue children. Then I told my senior that I want to do this task. Since I was the head constable and the woman. It was very difficult, but I accepted the challenge. In August, I became Corona positive. After 10 days rest, I started my task from Jan 12, Janmashtami day. I also had a fast that day.
After working hard for the first day, when the first child was found and handed over to his parents, there was no place for his happiness. I also became emotional. I am also the mother of a son. I was blessed with the parents of the child. I was encouraged and I completed the difficult task of finding 50 children in a year by finding 76 children in 75 days. For this, the department gave me an out of turn promotion from Head Constable to Assistant Sub Inspector.
The day I heard that Amitabh Bachchan sir wrote about me on social media. Then as soon as I saw the tweet, it was nothing short of a dream for me. Even today I cannot believe that Sir tweeted for me and for Delhi Police. Many thanks to him he has appreciated my work.
