Due to extreme heat and humidity in Balrampur for the last one month, the paddy crop was being adversely affected. According to the farmers, this is the time for sowing the grains in the paddy crop, but due to the heat, the grains were not being planted properly. Balrampur farmer Dinesh Kumar Mishra said that the paddy crop was in dire need of water, which has now been fulfilled by the rains. After the rains, the crops are becoming green again, which has raised hopes of increasing the yield.
Other crops also got benefit
Apart from paddy, sugarcane and vegetable crops have also benefited from the rain. Local farmers say that due to lack of continuous rain the crops were turning yellow, but now their greenery has returned. Most of the areas in Balrampur depend on agriculture, and farmers were deeply concerned about water shortage. Now the rain has reduced the problems of the farmers to a great extent.
