Road Safety Fortnight was started in Gonda district today by Gonda District Officer Neha Sharma by flagging off from the Collectorate. This fortnight will run from October 2 to October 16, in which people will be made aware of traffic rules.

During this, District Officer Neha Sharma along with the officials of the Transport Department administered oath to all the officers to follow the road safety rules. He said that under the Road Safety Fortnight, awareness programs will also be organized by school students at various places and intersections in the district.
The DM appealed to all the people to use seat belts while driving four-wheelers and wear helmets while driving two-wheelers. He said, “Do not use mobile phones while driving. If everyone follows these rules, accidents can be prevented to a great extent.”
Neha Sharma also said that driving at high speed should be banned, so that the chances of accidents are reduced. He advised school students not to drive without license and to be careful while overtaking.
Road Safety Fortnight is being organized with the aim to make people aware of traffic rules and travel safely on the road.
