The blazer had the colours of the national flags of both the countries. Gayle met the Indian and Pakistani players who were practising and took their signatures on his blazer. Players like Virat Kohli, Babar Azam were among those who gave autographs.

Before the match, an aircraft was seen flying over the Nassau stadium. A banner was hanging on it, which read – Release Imran Khan. Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been in jail since August last year. He is accused of corruption in the Toshakhana case. Before the general elections held in February this year, Imran has been sentenced to 31 years in 3 cases.

The India-Pakistan match was delayed due to rain. The toss took place at 8 o’clock, not 7:30. Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam reached the ground for the toss. The last over of the powerplay was bowled by Mohammad Aamir. Rishabh Pant was in front. On the first ball, Iftikhar Khan dropped Pant’s catch at slip. On the second ball, Pant played a shot towards cover. The ball went very high. Usman Khan tried to catch it, but he could not catch the ball.

Babar Azam could not connect it and the ball took the edge of the bat and went to the slip. Here was Suryakumar, who took a brilliant catch while diving.

In the 9th over, Hardik Pandya and Usman Khan collided at the crease. On the third ball, Rizwan played a shot on short leg. Usman, standing at the non-strike, ran to take the run. Hardik ran to field the ball and collided with Usman Khan. Hardik threw the ball towards the non-strike wickets but the throw did not hit. Here, Usman could have been run out.
