RPF Recruitment 2023: Railways To Fill Over 9,500 Constable, Sub-inspector Posts – News18


The candidates can apply for these posts only if they have passed Class 10.

The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will be the second stage of the selection process in RPF recruitment. It will be the same for both constable and sub-inspector posts.

The Indian Railways and the Railway Protection Force will soon release the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Recruitment 2023 notification. This notification will inform the candidates about the 9500+ vacancies of constable and sub-inspector for the candidates. The candidates, who are preparing for the railway exam, can download this notification from rpf.indianrailways.gov.in. This space articulates information about various details related to this examination like age limit, height and chest requirements, etc.

Age Limit

The age limit of the candidates applying for the RPF constable post should be between 18-25 years. The age of the candidates is calculated as per the details provided in the official notification. There are age relaxation limits as well for certain categories.

1. For Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes- 5 years

2. Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer)- 3 years

3. Ex-Armymen- Tenure of their service 3 years (general category)+3 years (OBC+Non Creamy Layer)+8 years (SC+ST)

4. Residents of Jammu and Kashmir between January 1, 1980- December 31, 1989- Unreserved (5 years)+OBC NCL (8 years)+SC, ST (10 years)

5. Central Government Employees with at least 3 years of permanent service- UR (5 years)+OBC NCL (8 years)+SC, ST (10 years)

6. Widowed, Divorced Ladies- UR(2 years)+OBC NCL(5years)+ SC, ST (7 years)

Height and Chest Requirement

The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will be the second stage of the selection process in RPF recruitment. It will be the same for both constable and sub-inspector posts. To reach this stage, candidates have to clear stage one, which will be an online-based objective-type examination. The height and chest requirements according to the categories are as follows-

Height

UR/OBC- 165 cm (Male) 157 cm (Female)

SC/ST – 160 cm (Male) 152 cm (Female)

Chest

UR/OBC- 80 cm (Male) Without Expanded, 85 cm (Female) Expanded

SC/ST- 76.2 cm (Male) Without Expanded, 81.2 cm (Female) Expanded

For Garhwali, Gorkha, Maratha, Dogra, Kumaoni, and other categories-

Height- 163 cm (Male) 155 cm (Female)

Chest- 80 cm (Male) without expanded, 85 cm (female) expanded

Educational Qualifications

The candidates can apply for these posts only if they have passed Class 10. Those who have not obtained the class 10th certificate will be considered ineligible for this post.
