For the first time in the world, the Rural Olympics will be organized in Rajasthan from 29 August to 2 October. On Saturday night, the state government announced the date of the Rural Olympics. The 35-day-long Rural Olympics will see participation of over 2.7 million athletes in the age group of 15 to 70 years. In which Kabaddi, Shooting, Volleyball, Tennis Ball Cricket, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Hockey sports competitions will be organized. Let us tell you that Rs 40 crore will be spent by the state government in this entire event to be held in Rajasthan.
Will be organized in 44 thousand villages
Rural Olympic Games will be organized at village, gram panchayat and block level. In which these games will be organized at 44 thousand 795 villages and 11 thousand 341 gram panchayat and 352 block level of the state. The Rural Olympic Games will be held in two phases. In which, in the first phase, there will be gram panchayat level sports competitions. Whereas in the second phase, block level sports competitions will be organized. Kabaddi, Volleyball, Hockey, Shooting Volleyball, Kho-Kho and Tennis Ball Cricket Competition will be organized in Rural Olympics. There will be competitions in both men’s and women’s categories.
Village talent will get platform
Sports Minister Ashok Chandna informed that Rural Olympics is being organized to find the talents of sportspersons hidden in the rural areas of the state. Individuals of all age groups can participate without any age restrictions. Awards and certificates will also be given to the players for their best performance. The Sports Minister said that so far more than 27 lakh registrations have been done.
The first rural Olympics were to be held from November 14. But then the officers-employees are currently engaged in a campaign with the administration, villages and cities. At the same time, due to Corona, there has been a delay in organizing the Rural Olympics. But now in August, for the first time in the history of the world, a unique event will be started in Rajasthan. The preparations for which have been started.
