Russia conducted extensive military drills in the Baltic to master anti-submarine warfare. Russian patrol ship ‘Neustrashimy’ and corvettes ‘Soobrazitelny’, ‘Boykiy’, and ‘Stoikiy’ carried out the exercise in the Baltic Sea. The exercise featured an enemy submarine that was tasked with destroying the Russian ships while hiding close to one of the Baltic Fleet’s naval groups. The warships were joined by the fleet’s Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters to locate, track, and “destroy” a fictitious enemy submarine. However, the timing of the latest set of drills coincides with escalating tensions in the Baltic region following Sweden’s induction into NATO. Watch the video to find out more.
