October 11 is the 57th wedding anniversary of Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar. On this occasion, Saira Banu has shared an emotional post by sharing an unseen video of the wedding. Saira told that for her, marrying Dilip Kumar was like the fulfillment of a dream and their love story was a real Cinderella story. Saira also told that in his absence for 2 years, she entertained herself by writing his stories.

A year after Dilip Kumar’s death on July 7, 2021, Saira Banu created an Instagram page in his memory, in which she shares stories of Dilip Sahab. On the occasion of her 57th anniversary, Saira has shared an unseen video of her wedding and written an emotional note. they wrote, Today, October 11, is our anniversary. I am writing this to thank all those well-wishers and close friends who have always sent me memories related to Dilip Sahab. Our time stood still amid the many shining stars in the sky. In the absence of Dilip Sahab, being his wife, I spent my time for 2 years by sharing his stories, which only I knew.

He further wrote, People would often ask me how it felt to be the wife of Shahenshah Dilip Kumar Sahab, I used to tell them that it was like sharing a throne without doing anything. This is a real Cinderella story. It rarely happens that a girl gets the prince of her dreams. It would take many pages or a book to describe how my life was with him.

Saira further wrote in her post, His personality was huge, he was a great person. He was so full of knowledge of the world and the afterlife that no one ever felt troubled with him. It is a book which you could never stop reading because you read a new page every day. Apart from films, he also had good knowledge of Urdu, Parsi, Anthropology, International Affairs, Botany and Sports.

Saira further writes, Dilip Sahab has been a guiding light not only for me but for many generations who have moved forward in life in his presence. Dilip sir is forever. May Allah always love him, Ameen.

Saira used to be a fan of Dilip Kumar since childhood and used to tell her mother that one day she will marry Dilip Kumar. It was a coincidence that he actually did it. Saira Banu was about to become a mother in 1972, but due to some complications she had a miscarriage. Both of them had no children.

Dilip Kumar, 98, passed away on 7 July 2021.
