Salute from the Skies, Parade of Champions, Drone Show and More… : World Cup Final set to be a Grand Spectacle – News18

A spectacular closing ceremony has been planned for the 2023 world cup.

Sunday’s World Cup final is set to be a grand spectacle with a four-part ceremony featuring an air show, Parade of Champions, musical performances, light & laser show and a lot more…

The moment Team India were done with their practice session in the evening hours, covers came on and the entire square was covered. Plenty of yellow cones were placed around it before a lot of dancers rushed out for rehearsals.

Following commands of trainers and instructors, they applied what looked like finishing touches for the planned show which will feature 500 of them creating formations on Field of Play.

Sunday is going to be as grand as it could get. An hour before the toss, there will be a salute from the skies from the Indian Air Force where nine hawks from the Suryakiran acrobatic team will do a vertical show above the Narendra Modi Stadium.

A glimpse of the same was seen during their rehearsals on Friday and the ten-minute show is going to be a never-seen-before performance before a cricket match.

After an adrenaline rushing air show, the focus will then shift to half-time where there is a Parade of Champions featuring former ODI World Cup winning captains.

All, except Imran Khan, will be in attendance for this segment which will see the skippers wearing special blazers representing the ICC CWC 23. Clive Lloyd, Kapil Dev, Allan Border, Arjuna Ranatunga, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, MS Dhoni, Michael Clarke and Eoin Morgan are likely to be present for felicitation.

The Parade of Champions is planned for ten minutes and then another ten minutes of the half-time interval reserved for a musical show featuring Pritam, Aditya Gadhavi, other singers and around 500 dancers.

It will be an immersive experience where the singers will perform from customised floats and then the dancers will break into different formations creating a visual delight for the spectators. Rehearsals for the spectacle were underway in the evening hours on Friday where dancers were rehearsing to the tunes of ‘Deva, Deva’, ‘Lehra do’ and ‘Dil Jashn Bole’ – ICC CWC 23 anthem.

Moving on, towards the second innings, there will be a visual countdown for 90 seconds where the roof of the stadium will be used for a laser and lights show. Glimpses of it were seen during the various rehearsals today and the light and laser show is going to be an unreal experience when the stadium goes completely dark. A production company from the UK is going to design and produce the show.

Follow all the action from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 including the World Cup schedule, World Cup 2023 results, and ICC Cricket World Cup points table. Players are vying to top the World Cup 2023 Most Runs and World Cup 2023 Most Wickets charts.

The conclusion of the night is going to be as electric as the start. There is an award winning fireworks show, something similar to what was done after the final of IPL 2023, planned and 1200 drones will light up the dark sky with an aerial Champions board.

Numerous dignitaries are expected to grace the event and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be in attendance for the title clash between India and Australia.

India reached Ahmedabad on Thursday and had their practice session today. Australia, fresh from a tight win over South Africa in the second semi-final, reached Ahmedabad today only and will be training at the Narendra Modi Stadium in the afternoon tomorrow.
