Many actors from the industry are going to contest the soon to be held Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Meanwhile, there was talk that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt will contest elections from Karnal in Haryana this year on behalf of Congress. However, on Monday, the actor termed the news as a rumor in a tweet.
Sanjay tweeted this on Monday.
Sanjay said- don't pay attention to these rumors
Sanjay wrote, 'I want to tell you all that I am neither joining any party nor contesting elections. If I join any party or contest elections, I will tell you first. Don't pay attention to all these rumours.

Sanju became a part of SP in 2009
Earlier in the year 2009, Sanjay had become a part of Samajwadi Party, however, later he resigned from the post of General Secretary of the party. In 2019, there was news that he was going to join Rashtriya Samaj Party. At that time Sanjay had issued a statement saying that he was not entering politics.
Sanjay's father Sunil Dutt was an MP from the Congress Party and was the Youth Affairs and Sports Minister in 2004-2005.
Sanjay Dutt has been seen many times campaigning for his sister Congress MP Priya Dutt.
Kangana and Arun Govil will contest elections
This year many actors are entering politics. The biggest name in this is that of actress Kangana Ranaut who will contest elections for BJP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, actor Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in 'Ramayana', will contest for BJP from Meerut. In Tamil Nadu, star couple Sarathkumar and Radhika have also recently joined BJP.
On the work front, Sanju was last seen in 'Leo' released last year.
On the work front, Sanjay was last seen in the Tamil film 'Leo' opposite Thalapathy Vijay. Soon he will be seen in Telugu film Double Eye Smart, Kannada film KD- The Devil and Welcome to the Jungle.
