The Supreme Court has granted interim relief to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh and ruled to stop his arrest. Also, the apex court has directed the UP government to file the reply within a week. The court has also reprimanded Sanjay Singh for dividing the society into caste and religion.
The Supreme Court, while advising Sanjay Singh, said that you cannot divide the society on the basis of religion and caste. You are an MP you should not have made such a statement. If you exceed your limit, a lawsuit will be filed against you according to the law.
Next hearing will be held in the third week of March
In this case, the Supreme Court also recorded Vivek Tankha’s statement that this approval should have been taken from the Rajya Sabha President to register an FIR. While approval was obtained from the governor to register an FIR.
