In a massive victory for the Centre, the Supreme Court of India upheld the Central Vista project, including the new Parliament building, with certain conditions. While pronouncing its verdict on the petitions challenging the validity of the Centre’s plan for the redevelopment of the Central Vista area, SC said that the Centre has proper paperwork and gave its go-ahead. The apex court allowed the project to go on but with several riders like clearances from Heritage Conservation Committee.
