Nikkhil Advani revealed that Shah Rukh Khan gets a ‘thrill’ credit in some movies and doesn’t like love stories.
Shah Rukh Khan is popularly known as the ‘King of Romance’ in Bollywood. With films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham among others becoming cult classics, Shah Rukh Khan became a popular romantic hero in Bollywood. However, filmmaker and frequent collaborator Nikkhil Advani recently revealed that the actor hates love stories.
In an interview with Cyrus Says, Nikkhil said, “Shah Rukh and I used to have these conversations so many times that ‘Karan and Adi only do love story, let us do something different.’ Shah Rukh hates love stories. Considering that he is known as King Khan and King of Romance, this and that, but he hates love stories. Dil Se is his favourite film. He keeps talking about his favourite sequences from the films Hey Ram and Darr. He loves his film Ram Jaane, where he is wearing a headband.”
The filmmaker added, “Shah Rukh Khan had this habit. Every time, Karan or Adi would make him hear a new song and tell him their plans of shooting it in Switzerland and stuff, he would always come back and call the other film better. He used to constantly do that.”
Nikkhil said that Shah Rukh Khan likes ‘thrill’ and even gets a ‘thrill credit’ in some of his movies. He elaborated, “Even when you see Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, he gets a credit called thrills. At the beginning of the film, he gets credit for thrills. It is because he treated the basketball sequence in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai like an action scene. He choreographed it.”
The filmmaker said, “When we told him that his entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was with the helicopter, He thought he is going to jump off the helicopter, while he just had to step down. The scene was more about Jaya Bachchan that she gets to know about the arrival of her son as soon as he touches the ground.” Nikkhil said that Shah Rukh was disappointed that he merely had to step down from the chopper.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is now prepping for his next film, King. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film also stars Suhana Khan as the parallel lead. Reportedly, the actor will play a mafia kingpin in the film and Suhana will play his mentee. Munjya fame Abhay Verma also has a key role and Abhishek Bachchan will play the villain.
