Shami in Bengal team for Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Sudeep Gharami team captain; Tournament starts from 23rd November

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been included in the Bengal team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. After recovering from injury, Shami returned to the field in Ranji Trophy after almost a year. This tournament is starting from 23rd November. Bengal’s first match will be against Punjab.

This time Sudeep Gharami will captain the Bengal team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Whereas in Ranji Trophy, the captaincy was handled by Anustup Majumdar.

Shami took 7 wickets against Madhya Pradesh Shami was injured during the ODI World Cup last year and returned to the field after almost a year in the Ranji Trophy. During his comeback, he took four wickets in the first innings and three wickets in the second innings against Madhya Pradesh. After this match, there was hope that Shami could also be called to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy but it did not happen.
