In the first match of IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Mumbai Indians by two wickets. The 30-year-old medium pace all-rounder Harshal Patel played a key role in Virat’s team’s victory. Patel took 5 wickets for 27 runs. He became the first bowler in IPL history to take 5 wickets in a match against Mumbai. Harshal, who has changed this performance, has made headlines overnight. However, he had been working and waiting for such a performance for more than a decade. Now their struggle seems to be meaningful. Meanwhile in 2005 he had the option of settling in the US with other family members but decided to stay in India to pursue a career in cricket.

Become a part of Haryana team if neglected in Gujarat

He was selected in the Indian team for the 2010 Under-19 World Cup but did not get a chance to play a single match. Harshal shifted to Haryana after not being selected in the Gujarat team at senior level. In the 2011–12 Ranji season, he managed to take 8 consecutive wickets in the quarter-finals and semi-finals. He has also been a good lower order batsman.
In 2010, Mumbai Indians bought for 8 lakh rupees.
In the IPL, Harshal was first bought by the team of Mumbai Indians in 2010 for 8 lakh rupees. However, he did not get a chance to play a single match that year. In 2012, he got his first chance to play matches in the IPL by RCB. He took 9 wickets in 12 matches that season. 2015 was the best season for him. He took 17 wickets in 15 matches that year. But after this, there was a steady decline in his performance. From 2018 to 2020, he was part of the Delhi team. After this RCB bought him in trade with Delhi.
