Sonu Singh, a resident of village Satwansa of Police Station, Madavara, went missing from the house in the year 2004. His mental condition was not well. Father Roshan Singh said that he was searched a lot, but he was not found. A few years later, he had given up hope of Sonu Singh coming back home. Suddenly he received information when information was sought from the family about Sonu Singh. It was then revealed that his son remained in Pakistan’s prison for 13 years, from where he was released on 26 October and handed over to India. Presently he was kept in the community center in Amritsar. Father Roshan Singh arrived in Amritsar on 21 November to pick up the son with his cousin Uday Singh, but due to some paperwork, he was not handed over to the son.
About 10 days later, the Sonu Singh family was handed over. After this, the two-member team of the administration, SI Vishnu Kumar of Madavara police station and Kanungo Rahim Khan and father Lalitpur left Amritsar on 3 December. After this, Sonu Singh has returned to his native land of Lalitpur after 16 years.
