US President Joe Biden has authorised Ukraine to use long-range American missiles against military targets inside Russia, as per US officials. Biden’s decision is a major change in US policy which comes only two months before he demits the Oval Office. It’s the first time that Biden allowed the Ukrainian military to use the system known as ATACMS or Army Tactical Missile Systems. Allowing Ukraine to use ATACMS followed Russia’s surprise decision to bring North Korean troops into the fight, US officials told The New York Times. The weapons are likely to be initially employed against Russian and North Korean troops in defence of Ukrainian forces occupying Russia’s Kursk region.
