The police arrested Shane Haider on Saturday. When he was interrogated strictly, he handed over a box buried in the ground behind his house to the police. In this box, the police found a gold necklace, 2 tops, 2 rings, a nose ring, a tika, a pair of anklets and a broken safe. The wood merchant had collected these jewels for his daughter’s wedding.
During police interrogation, Shane Haider told that he sells Kulfi. He used to go to Alinagar to sell Kulfi. During this time, he started keeping an eye on Arif’s two-storey house. During this surveillance, one day he saw a woman leaving the house with a bag. From this, he guessed that the woman was going to a relative’s house. On the night of June 5, it was drizzling lightly. Taking advantage of this opportunity, he climbed onto the roof of the house from the back. After this, he broke the glass of the window and entered the room and then came down from the main gate with a small safe kept in the room. He kept the safe on the bike parked outside and fled from there. After going home, he broke the safe and saw that apart from gold and silver jewellery, there was also Rs 35,000 in cash. After taking out the cash, Shane Haider locked the safe in a box and buried it by digging a pit in the ground behind his house.
