Akashdeep, playing the second match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL-15th season, took 3 wickets in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He showed Venkatesh Iyer, Umesh Yadav and Nitish Rana the way to the pavilion. Akashdeep not only had to leave his family to pursue a career in cricket, but he also had to leave the state.
Akashdeep is a resident of Sasaram in Rohtash district of Bihar. Due to the ban on Bihar Cricket Association, he went to Bengal. Played cricket club in Bengal at a relative’s home in Asansol and later represented Bengal in domestic cricket. Former Ranji player Sourasish Lahiri recognized talent
Akashdeep’s talent was recognized by Sourasish Lahiri, assistant coach of the Bengal Ranji team. Lahiri had represented Bengal in domestic cricket. Lahiri said in a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar that when I became the captain of Bengal U-23 for the first time, I came to know that a boy from Bihar is playing for Bengal’s cricket club, he is talented. At that time Akashdeep was playing for United Club. I called for bowling in the nets. I saw that there is pace in his bowling. I included him in the Bengal Under-23 team.
Akashdeep started cricket in the year 2009-10 from New Stadium in Sasaram.
Stayed with the team for months without playing, later led the team to the final of CK Nayudu
Saurashish says that in 2019, when he was selected in the Under-23, then he got injured. He had a problem with his back. However, we stayed with the team. He used to take them on every tour. Did not play in the match. Took care of them. Questions were also raised on taking him with the team, after all, when he returned fit, he took the team to the final of CK Nayudu that year. He was later selected in the India team for the tour of Australia in Under-23. After returning from Australia, Bengal made his debut in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Took 4 wickets in the last two matches. Later, Bengal became a permanent member of the team in every format. After that, he never looked back.
Akashdeep has been bought by RCB for a base price of 20 lakhs.
Akashdeep made his cricket debut at Sasaram’s New Stadium
Akashdeep made his cricket debut in the year 2009-10 from New Stadium in Sasaram. There he took initial training. Later moved to Bengal. His father himself Ramji Singh was a physical teacher, while Mata Ladduma Devi is a housewife. His family does agriculture in the village.
Debut in all three formats from Bengal in 2019
In 2019, Akashdeep made his debut in domestic cricket from Bengal in all three formats. In 11 first class matches played so far, he took 45 wickets at an economy rate of 3.16. While in 16 matches of List A, he took 25 wickets at an economy rate of 5.58, while in T20 matches he took 30 wickets at an economy rate of 6.90.
