Bollywood’s popular filmmaker is in the news after being accused of stealing the script. Recently, the trailer of Karan’s upcoming film Jug-Jug Jio has been released, after which a scriptwriter has accused Karan of stealing the script. The scriptwriter has claimed that he had sent his script to Karan in 2020, on which Karan made a film in his name. Apart from this, Pakistani singer has also accused him of stealing the song. This is not the first time that a Bollywood film has been accused of stealing the script. Let us know which are more such cases-

Writer Vicky Sharma accused John Abraham’s film Attack of stealing the story. He alleges that the makers have made an attack film by making a few changes in his story. Vicky says that he sent this script to John in 2014 but he did not like it. Now he has made the same film in his name.

Bala

Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Bala was accused of theft by not one but two people. Kamal Kant Chandra told that he had sent the script to Ayushmann, who was shooting for Bareilly Ki Barfi. At first he gave a positive response and later refused. After a few months it was announced that Ayushmann is working on this film. On the other hand, the makers of Sunny Singh’s film Ujda Chaman also accused the makers of Bala of stealing the script. Both the films were being released simultaneously, causing the controversy to continue for several months. Eventually Ujda Chaman released on 1 November and Bala a week later on 8 November 2019.

Sanya Malhotra’s film Paglat, released in the year 2019, has also been accused of theft. Exactly 3 months after this, the thirteenth release of Seema Pahwa’s Ramprasad was about to release, but as soon as Paglat was released, the team was in shock. The makers of Ramprasad’s Terahvi had accused the team of Paglat of stealing the script. The story of both the films was almost the same.

Manikarnika

Famous film producer Ketan Mehta had accused Kangana Ranaut of stealing the script of Manikarnika. Ketan had sent a legal notice to the makers demanding credit. Kangana had clarified that both of them had considered making a film together, but when differences arose, they decided to make the film alone.

Manikarnika 2: The Legend of Didda

Kangana Ranaut had announced to make the film Didda some time back. After this, Ashish Kaul has accused him of stealing the concept and script. He says that Kangana stole this story from her book Didda: The Warrior Queen of Kashmir.

Congratulations

Chhattisgarh-based writer and journalist Paritosh Chakraborty had filed a case accusing the makers of Badhaai Ho of stealing the script and making the film. He says that 19 years ago in 1998, the root story was published in Anand Bazar Patrika Sunanda and Hindi weekly magazine Kadambini. Congratulations have been made for stealing this story completely.

Gulabo – Sitabo

Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer film Gulabo Sitabo, which came on the OTT platform in 2020, has also been accused of theft. Story credit on the film has been given to Juhi Chaturvedi, but a young man named Akira alleges that his father Rajiv Agarwal wrote the story of the film. The makers of Gulabo Sitabo had clarified with a statement that the story of the film was written in 2018 itself.
