Four new cases of new corona strains have been found in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. There have been five cases of new strains in the district. The strain was first found in a baby girl. The girl had come to Delhi from London in December with her parents. Among the four new patients who came out on Monday, the girl’s parents, besides Fufa and a 17-year-old relative.
According to the Health Department, all the positives of the new strain found so far are from the same family. According to the government guidelines, samples of people coming from London were sent for investigation. There was also a family in Sant Vihar Colony of the city. A sample of family members was sent for investigation. The report confirmed a new strain in the baby girl. On the night of 14 December, the family came to Delhi and reached Meerut from there.
13 samples were sent to Central Lab
According to the information, the health department had sent 13 sample central labs to confirm the new strain, of which 12 have been reported. Of these, seven reported negative, while five reported positive so far. One report that is to come is that of the baby girl. The Health Department has confirmed this.
On the other hand, of the four new patients who have come out, two live in Balwant Enclave Colony on Roorkee Road. Action is being taken as per the guideline when their report is positive. The local police has blocked the entry of the people of the colony while closing the main gate of the colony late in the evening.
Restrictions have also been imposed on entering the colony. About 150 families live here. People are facing trouble due to the colony being sealed. The Health Department team also took samples of people living in the colony on Monday.
