Punjabi singer and actor Harbhajan Mann on Friday chose a different path to support for the farmer movement. Harbhajan was selected by the state government for the Shiromani Punjabi Award. These awards were announced on Thursday by the Punjabi Language Department. In which Sahitya Ratna and Shiromani Awards are to be given in 18 categories.

Talk of support written on social media
Harbhajan made his point through a post on social media. He wrote – The place I have reached today is due to farmers, mother tongue Punjabi and all Punjabis.
During this difficult time for farmers, I and my family have decided not to accept the Shiromani Punjabi Award from the Department of Languages with humility and respect. However, I am grateful to the Department. People’s love is the biggest reward of my career, and right now all of us should be devoted to the protest of peaceful farmers.

The song was released for farmers
About a month ago Harbhajan Mann released another song “Annadata Khet Saadi Maa, Khet Saadi Pag”. Apart from these, many Punjabi singers and actors including Kanwar Grewal, Sidhu Musewala, Bablu Mann and Harf Cheema have raised their voices in support of the farmers.
