The Supreme Court on Thursday made a big statement which has become headlines. The Supreme Court ruled in a narcotics case and said that the statement of an accused given to a police officer or investigating agency under the NDPS Act cannot be considered as evidence. Also, it cannot be made the basis for convicting the accused.
Now look at the current campaigns of NCB
The Supreme Court bench has given this ruling with a majority of 2: 1. This decision came at a time when the Narcotics Control Bureau is continuously raiding drug peddlers in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore. Under this, many Bollywood stars have also climbed in the eyes of NCB.
NCB gets nothing in Sushant case- Satish
Riya Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Manashinde has also given his opinion after this Supreme Court statement. Satish says this is a historic decision. How many people have been punished due to such statements. Those who have been forcibly taken, third-degree, or making threats. Satish further said that the same was true of all the accused in the SSR drugs angle case. No serious crime or recovery of drugs or any independent evidence was found from anyone.
This decision does not make sense for Riya
According to Pinkvilla’s report, Manashinde said that after this decision many innocents will be saved. However, in Riya Chakraborty’s case, this decision is no longer of any use. Talking about Riya, the NCB arrested him on 8 September. Riya got bail on October 7 after spending nearly 28 days in jail.
