The second and last match of the Test series between India and Sri Lanka is being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. During the match, Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid and former captain Virat Kohli were seen patting the back of Sri Lankan fast bowler Suranga Lakmal. Actually this is Suranga Lakmal’s last test match.
After this match, he will say goodbye to international cricket. He has already announced his retirement. He was also given a guard of honor in his last match. Lakmal has taken 171 wickets in 70 Tests and 109 wickets in 86 ODIs for Sri Lanka.

Suranga Lakmal has announced to quit international cricket at the age of 35. He made his ODI debut for Sri Lanka about 13 years ago in December 2009 against India in Nagpur. Shortly after, he got a chance to make his Test debut against the West Indies in Colombo. Lakmal continued to play ODIs and Test matches for Sri Lanka continuously for the last 12 years. Lakmal’s career, who started his international career against India, is also coming to an end against India.
The only Asian captain to win a Test match in Barbados
Suranga Lakmal also captained the Sri Lanka team in 5 Test matches and during this time set a record which no other Asian captain could do till date. Lakmal is the only Asian captain to win a Test against West Indies in Barbados.

This test match can be over in three days. Sri Lanka need 419 runs to win this match and India will need to take nine wickets to win. At the end of the second day’s play, Sri Lanka scored 28 runs for the loss of one wicket.
