The Yogi government has taken a major step towards generating employment in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The MoU is signed by the multinational Swedish company IKEA (IKEA). This company has purchased 850 crores of land for an investment of 5500 crores in Noida. Only through stamp duty on sale of land, the state got revenue of 56 crores. The company is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of furniture and home appliances. IKEA is going to start India’s largest outlet in Noida.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Industrial and Infrastructure Development Minister Satish Mahana from Lucknow attended the virtual MoU signing program with the company on Friday. On this occasion, the lease document (lease deed) and the possession transfer letter of the plot were exchanged between the Noida Authority and the Ingka Centers system. This project will have to be completed in a period of seven years. This will provide employment to about one thousand people.
Construction will be completed by 2025
The government and IKEA had been in talks for about 2 years to build a shopping center in Noida, but it has taken more than two years to finalize it. IKEA officials say that by 2025 construction of this shopping center will be completed. That is, from 2025, people from Noida and nearby will be able to shop from IKEA stores. Construction of this shopping center will provide employment to about 1 thousand people.
Company’s 45 malls all over the world
IKEA has about 45 shopping malls all over the world. These shopping malls are located in Europe, Russia and China. Now the company plans to enter the US in 2021. The company says that customers have started visiting its stores and malls since October following the Kovid-19 restrictions.
Investment of 12 thousand 931 crores since 2017
Since 2017, 1095 industrial, commercial, institutional plots have been allotted. Which will lead to an investment of about 12,931 crores. There is a possibility of creating 15,040 jobs. The facility of receiving applications online in respect of all categories of assets of the Authority is in force from May 2020. To facilitate the investment related process, more than 10 thousand applications have been disposed of by integrating the services of the Authority with the InvestMitra portal.
Investment of 4 thousand crores from investor summit
During the Investor Summit and Ground Breaking Ceremonies, more than 20 investors related to commercial, industrial and institutional sectors signed MoUs. This paved the way for investment of about 4000 crores. Nodal officers were appointed to facilitate all such investors and monitor their problems effectively, so as to encourage investment in the sector.
