Team India can reach Delhi by 6 am on Thursday. The team is stuck in Barbados due to storm Beryl. Team India had to return the day after the thrilling victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, but due to the storm, Team India could not leave for India.

According to the report, BCCI will bring Team India back by chartered flight. The Air India flight that will pick up the team has been specially named ‘Cricket 24 World Champion’.

The team is expected to reach Delhi directly from Bridgetown. After reaching here, the players will be felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but that program has not been confirmed yet.

However, no official statement has come from BCCI yet.

The team was expected to depart Bridgetown at 6 pm local time (July 3, 3:30 AM IST) and reach Delhi at 7.45 pm (IST) on Wednesday, but it has now been delayed, PTI quoted a source as saying on Tuesday.

Had to come back on 1st July
The Indian team was scheduled to fly to New York on Monday to return to India, but the team’s schedule was disrupted due to bad weather.

The report said that Hurricane Beryl, which is coming from the Atlantic, is blowing winds at a speed of 210 km per hour. This Category 4 storm was about 570 km east-southeast of Barbados and due to this, operations at the airport have been stopped.

Team India became world champion on 29 June
The team won the T20 World Cup on 29 June. The Indian team has become the champion in this tournament after 17 years. Not only this, India has ended the drought of ICC trophy after 11 years. India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final match on the ground of Barbados.
