India defeated Pakistan by six runs in the T-20 World Cup match held on June 9.

The Indian team will not go to Pakistan to play the Champions Trophy in February 2025. The BCCI will ask the ICC to hold India’s matches in Dubai instead of Pakistan. India did not go to play in the Asia Cup series held in Pakistan last year. India’s matches were then held in Sri Lanka.

PCB had sent a proposal to hold all India’s matches in Lahore
The Champions Trophy 2025 will be played from February 19 to March 9 next year, with March 10 being the reserve day for the final. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a draft of the 15 matches of the tournament to the ICC. The ICC will approve this schedule only after getting consent from the boards of the 8 teams participating in the tournament.

Pakistan may face its biggest rival India in Lahore on March 1. However, the BCCI has not yet given its consent for this match. A senior ICC board member gave this information to PTI on Wednesday.

This will be the first time since 1996 that Pakistan will host a major ICC tournament. However, the PCB hosted the entire Asia Cup in 2008 and some of the matches of the Asia Cup were held in Pakistan last year as well.

PCB chairman finalised the schedule of 15 matches
According to the report, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has sent a schedule of 15 matches to the ICC for the Champions Trophy 2025. In which all the matches of India have been kept in Lahore due to security reasons.

An ICC board member said, “The PCB has submitted a draft of the 15-match ICC Champions Trophy. There will be seven matches in Lahore, three in Karachi and five in Rawalpindi. The opening matches will be held in Karachi, while the two semi-finals will be held in Karachi and Rawalpindi. Apart from this, the final match will be played in Lahore. All the matches of India will be held in Lahore, if the team reaches the semi-finals then this match will also be held in Lahore.”

Asia Cup matches were held in Sri Lanka at the behest of India
Last year too, Pakistan was awarded the hosting rights of the Asia Cup. Even then, as India did not go there, the tournament was held on a ‘hybrid model’. India’s matches were held in Sri Lanka. In the final match held in Colombo, the Indian team won the championship by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets.
