The body of a class 7 student who drowned in Sai river of Hardoi has been recovered after 20 hours. The girl had jumped into the river to save her elder sister who was drowning in the river. People saved his elder sister but the younger sister who jumped to save him was washed away in the strong current of the river.

A teenage girl drowned in the Sai river on Thursday evening in Piparchak village of Kasimpur police station area. The police called divers and started searching for him. 20 hours after the incident, divers found the body entangled in a net at a distance of about 500 meters from the incident site.
Santosh Kumar’s 12-year-old daughter Pooja, elder daughter Anju, cousins Rohit and Ashish, resident of Peepar Chak village, had come to give water to the buffalo. During this time, Anju and cousins Rohit and Ashish were bathing in the river. Due to the high flow of the river, Anju started drowning when her younger sister Pooja and brother jumped in to save her. Pooja jumped in to save him and drowned. Anju has been taken out.

Police sent the body for postmortem As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police started searching for the body with the help of divers. 20 hours after the incident, the divers recovered the body at a short distance from the spot. In the family of the deceased, apart from brother Sumit, elder sister Anju and mother Sunita, there is father Santosh. Police station chief Anil Singh said that the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem.
