The efforts made by the responsible department officials have not made any significant impact so far. With the decrease in wind speed, the amount of PM 2.5 has increased. The air quality of the capital is 374 which is considered to be in very poor category in air pollution standards.
AQI of Lucknow reached 407 on Sunday. On Monday, AQI has come down to 380 with a correction of 28 points. On Tuesday, the air quality improved by six points and came down to AQI 375. The AQI of the Talkatora region in the city has reached alarming levels.
Quality is deteriorating due to low wind speed
Regional pollution control officer of Lucknow Dada Ramkaran said that the air quality is deteriorating since Friday due to the reduced wind speed. Due to increase in the amount of PM 2.5 in the air, the capital of the capital has reached very poor level. He said that the guerrilla team of the board has conducted surprise inspections of more than half a dozen construction sites. In these, violations of standards of air pollution have been found in many places. Strict action is being taken against those who violate the standards.
